Before you begin to worry, dear reader, that the following tale of
Surprise and Sudden Fame has gone to my head, I regret to tell you that
It is already Too Late...
I am in shock.
Not only have I received an award, I have received it twice.
I am Domestic Minx, Thinker Extraordinaire.
My adorable and delightful friend Margot, aka The Impatient Blogger, and a brilliant one at that, awarded me yesterday with the most delicious of prizes:
As I was recovering from the surprise, struggling furiously to contain my suddenly enlarged head (with huge thinking brain inside it) I received news via my regular palaeontological read, Fish Feet, that she has awarded me the same honour.
To say I am chuffed and swollen with pride is an understatement.
The honour, however, has Responsibilities, and has presented me with a conundrum so vast that I have since developed a monstrous migraine, emanating rudely from the right hand side of my bulbous brain.
In gratitude, and by way of paying it forward, I have been requested to nominate a further five blogs for the award.
The perameters were that they be blogs regularly read, containing meaningful content and that make me THINK.
How I have narrowed this down to a mere five I do not know.
I love all the blogs I read. And there are so many blogs that I visit on a daily basis, all delicious and all entirely deserving of my attentions.
But the ones that make me THINK?... hmmm... the ones that, in at least the past month, have made me stop in my tracks and catch my breath I have managed to trim down to the following....
Glosslip:
Without fail, the most incisive and unflinching commentary on celebrity news, media, culture and all the hot stuff you wanna know.
Not simply a gossip columnist, Dawn seriously kicks the ass. A bona fide, heavy duty journalist, this girl deals the dirt with determination and integrity. I simply cannot go a day without knowing how, when and why she's busted a cap up someone's bad ass.
Jafabrit's Art:
This girl is cool. She rocks some serious art and is a daily and delicious enigma for me. She's a cheeky Geordie lass who will stun you with her creations and delight you her Northern charm. Aye...
ScarySkinny:
Thinista is one cool, calm and collected poppet and man, she has all the juice. Witty and insightful, ScarySkinny taps into the dark places. I won't start the day without her clever take on the Unreal world of Celebrity.
Fish Feet:
This is really funny! As I am writing about my palaeontological friend, she is writing about me!! What a brilliant little blog this is! Being a closet brainiac, I relish Sarda's discussions on evolution, biodiversity, palaeontology and conservation finding a big jump out of the square a highly stimulating activity for my increasingly turgid cerebrum.
Sois belle et parle:
Ok, my French is pretty bad and I struggle with the translation, but I must declare my love for all things French and fantastique!!! I love mon amie Violette! She is cool and sassy and frivolous and French and wholly f*cking fabulous!!
Get your French/English dictionary out and visit her immediatement!!!
Oh, but there are SO MANY MORE!!
Only recently I have met B-Kitty, gay and gorgeous and so deliciously inappropriate that I want to just kiss his furry ass and sink a few bottles in St Louis with him, right now!! Meow!
and Acerbia. Acerbic, pithy and reeking of wit, his tales are simply BRILLIANT!

I am so proud to be a blog that makes people think.
Of course, what I actually make them think about is quite another matter...
But if it is something decadent, darling and delicious then I have achieved my purpose.
