it's a dirty business
about me

Being a minx is delicious.
Add a big dollop of domesticity
and you could have
a recipe for disaster.

A hip-swinging, shot-slinging,
globe-trotting member of
the jet-setting elite
leaves her expat world for housework, teenagers
and a chance to write her book.

This is what happens when
the leather boots come off
and the rubber gloves go on...

The Slinky Minx

A particularly golden moment was assuming the role of Madame X, flirtatious proprieter of The Slinky Minx Pleasure Parlour. A farewell party for my friend, it was an extraordinarily extravagant affair, held in the middle of the jungle and protected by armed guards. Those who came without costume were not so safe, however. They were stripped and whipped ceremoniously, yet rather ingloriously, by my friend and I as punishment.

midnight rambler

cat mask - colette calascione

Slept not a wink last night.
All night, atoss and turn
and lost,
your weight, your body missed against mine.
My kiss amiss in places dark,
with lips lonely whispering your name,
the black cat cloak of darkness swallowing cries
of please return.
Please, please!
come. home..
No word,
no warning sign that you had somewhere else to go.

I cried
and wandered lonely as a clouded
footprint pad through lonely halls
and places dark to call your name.
I cried and yet you stayed, you strayed
and played, to toy with me.
And hurt me
with your slick and sly insouciance.

And so, bereft I sit as
ohhhh!
Oh, so smoothly slide you in,
your bad boy blues a breeze,
a morning soft, a kiss against your eyes a-blink
and winking up at me.

Sweet soft your brush against my cheek
as all forgotten lays upon the fur
as fine as lies upon my lips.
Still, slyly slink and smarm your smiles
Sweet Prince,
your smooth and silken gestures lost
against the doors
that close now in your face.

Manipulate, manouevre, mew,
you will not leave my sight tonight
bad boy,
vile wanderings ended now,
my Midnight Rambler,
curbed, perturbed by me,
Your Mistress sour,
unsweetened by your slick insouciance.

You had me worried there for a minute, minx. A naughty tomcat, but a beautiful poem!

isn't it the truth... i sleep with two big old hairy 100 pound apiece canine girls,, and i cannot enjoy a moments rest unless they are there and accounted for... which is quite perplexing when the black one... see it is always the black ones... leaves me in favor of fighting a raccoon or terrorizing my outdoor cat all night... troublesome indeed.....

This Mistress is grateful indeed that her Midnight Rambler is home at last, dearest Mistress M...

He is never allowed out at night, for this very reason. He is a tom, of course...

I fear for him when I don't have him laying across my feet at night - and he doesn't care - of course...

He is my boy on the side, Eddie, my dark lover.

I adore him...
He is quite delicious
and he knows it.

It is why he is called Diablo.

Oh Paisley!!

It is the cross I too must bear. As if two bad boys of my own aren't enough, I must supplement the torment with my naughty tom...
I simply cannot sleep either, unless all are present and accounted for..
I am Mistress of Stalag 13.

A beautiful verse, my dear Minx.

I dare say if I was a tom cat, I would not leave your side, or the warmth of your girls.

More like feline diabolique, darling Michelle...

And the emotions run high when he's not tucked in at night! My last tomcat met an unpleasant end after a night on the town...I'm not running any risks with this little fellow!

Darling Lord Likely,

You ARE a tomcat, my dear man, and I dare say, if I had you clutched to my bosom, I would be equally loathe to let you out to wander...

Dear Minx I just love pussy cats they are my favorite. Lobo and I have a kitty that curls right up on the end of the bed, and she is just devine :)

You are a wonderful poet Minx, loved this post!

He is a pampered creature, it is true Raffi...
It is a smooch fest when he is in my arms, and is infinitely content.
Yet always there is the call of the wild...
Sadly, it holds more allure than his minxy mistress.

Disappointing really...

It is divine indeed when one can share such a delicious bond with a pet, Lady Terri.
I adore my darling little feline friend, and he me...
Yet I know he systematically ignored me, possibly curled up somewhere watching me, for seven hours as I called his name.
It is a cruel insouciance perfected as art.
He was every bit his namesake....
